Forgings

Closed-die, open-die and precision forgings, rolled rings and further technologies. Prototypes and series production at verified manufacturers.

01

We handle small, medium and large series as well as the production of prototypes using 3D technologies.

02

Closed-die forgings are supplied in carbon, structural, alloy, microalloyed and stainless steels, weighing from 0.1 to 1000 kg. Ranges for the other technologies differ and are agreed per part.

03

Production takes place in certified plants of our partners. On every order we insist on the quality of workmanship and thorough quality control.

01 / 6

Forging of closed-die forgings

Forging takes place on forging lines with forging presses. The lines have induction heating with precise control and sorters for overheated or insufficiently heated pieces.

02 / 6

Heat treatment

For heat treatment of forgings we provide continuous lines as well as a hardening shop — we select the treatment suitable for your part.

03 / 6

Technological options

  • Normalizing annealing
  • Quenching and tempering
  • Controlled cooling from forging temperature — BY annealing
  • Isothermal annealing
  • Soft annealing
  • Solution annealing
  • Stress-relief annealing
04 / 6

Surface treatment of forgings

The surface treatment department offers the following operations:

  • non-destructive testing — surface defect inspection (flux)
  • cold sizing and coining of forgings on a knuckle press
  • electroplating
  • painting of forgings

On request we also provide 100% surface defect inspection by the flux method. A 3D measuring station is available.

05 / 6

Machining of forgings

We provide all conventional technologies for machining forgings. On the customer’s request we also machine closed-die forgings — milling and turning operations on CNC machines. For specific requirements we cooperate with further machine shops.

06 / 6

Dispatch of forgings and machined parts

We arrange transport in packaging to the customer’s specification — wooden crates, plastic pallets and gitterboxes, including the required accompanying documentation. Goods are dispatched under Incoterms 2020 (FCA, DAP, EXW and others).

We supply mainly to these sectors:

01 Automotive industry
02 Agriculture
03 Metallurgy, mining machinery
04 Transport systems, railways
05 Construction
06 Materials handling equipment
07 Food industry
08 Power generation and others

Production takes place exclusively in certified plants. On all parts supplied we insist on the quality of workmanship and thorough quality control.

Quality control covers the whole process — from material purchase through in-process inspection to final inspection before dispatch.

In order to deliver a technically flawless part we work with a minimum-defect strategy.

Frequently asked questions

What weight range of closed-die forgings do you supply?
ForgeCast Europe supplies closed-die forgings weighing from 0.1 kg to 1000 kg. We produce small, medium and large series as well as individual prototypes. Ranges for open-die forgings and rolled rings differ and are agreed per part.
Which materials are the forgings made from?
Closed-die forgings are supplied in carbon, structural, alloy, microalloyed and stainless steels. We recommend a suitable material according to the load on the part and the required quality.
Will you produce a prototype or a single-piece order?
Yes. Besides series production we also provide prototypes using 3D technologies. For new parts the quotation states the tooling cost separately, so it is clear what is a one-off investment and what is the piece price.
Do you also provide heat treatment and machining?
Yes. Besides forging itself we provide heat treatment, machining and surface treatment, so you receive the part in the required final condition.
What documents do you need for an inquiry?
A drawing, a 3D model or a photograph of the existing part is enough. We accept STEP, PDF and common CAD formats. We reply to inquiries by the next working day at the latest.
